Do guests need to download an app?

How does the QR code work?

Every spot — a table, a sunbed, a room — gets its own code that contains the venue and the spot. Because the spot is encoded, the staff always sees where a request comes from and nobody has to type a table number.

Any current smartphone, tablet or desktop browser: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Samsung Internet in their current and previous major versions. The layout is built mobile-first, so it also works on small and older screens.

Does it work without the venue's Wi-Fi?

Yes. A normal mobile data connection is enough. Wi-Fi is helpful in locations with weak reception but is never required.

What happens if the connection drops?

The guest view shows an offline notice and keeps the current selection on the device. As soon as the connection is back, the selection can be sent; nothing is lost in the meantime.

Can I keep using my existing cash register?

Yes, and you must. Kymiro never connects to your POS or cash register. Guest requests arrive in the Kymiro back office; your team enters them in your own cash register exactly as with a spoken order. Ringing up, receipts, taxes and any legally required recording stay entirely with the venue.

How do I create a QR code menu?

Create your venue, add categories and dishes with prices, start the translation and generate one QR code per table or sunbed. Download the print sheet, place the codes and scan one yourself to see exactly what your guests see. Most venues are live the same day.

Why does Kymiro say "request" instead of "order"?

Because the app only transmits your wishes to the staff. The venue decides whether it can serve them, records them in its own system and confirms them on site — that is what makes the order binding, not the tap in the browser.

Is my selection binding once I send it?

Sending it is not a concluded contract. The contract for food and drinks comes into existence between you and the venue when the staff accepts and serves your request. Until then you can talk to the staff about changes.

How do I pay?

You pay on site the way the venue offers it — cash, card or mobile payment at the counter or with the waiter. Kymiro does not take your money.

In-app payment is announced as a future package but is not active yet. Until then all payments happen directly with the venue, which also issues the official receipt.

Everyone who scans the same spot code shares one open session. Each device sees the same selection in real time, guests appear as name chips, and one person can send the request for the whole table.

Yes. Every line in your selection can carry its own note, for example "no ice" or "lactose free". The note travels with the request to the staff.

What is the difference between the overview and a bill?

The overview is a preliminary summary of what you have requested, including any venue fees. It is not a receipt or an invoice — the venue's own system produces the official document.

Once a request is sent it is visible to the team, so it can no longer be edited on your phone. Speak to a member of staff or use the staff call button. The venue decides whether an item can still be cancelled.

Yes. Tapping the heart on a product stores it as a favourite in your browser on this device only. Favourites are never sent to the venue or to Kymiro and disappear when you clear your browser data.

Smart Menu highlights pairings and popular combinations based on the venue's own menu data, for example a drink that fits the dish you selected. It is a display aid only; you can switch it off in the menu header and browse the plain category list instead.

No. The guest view works without an account and without sign-up. You may optionally add a display name so people at your table can see who added which item; that name stays with the table session.

The interface ships in English and Greek. Menu content can be maintained in many more languages: the venue chooses which menu languages to offer, and guests switch freely.

Yes. In the round manager you can record a goodwill reduction with a reason; every change is written to an audit log with the user and timestamp. This is an internal working figure for your team. The binding calculation, the receipt and the settlement are produced by your own cash register.

Greek venues issue retail documents through their certified cash system and transmit data to the AADE myDATA platform as required. Kymiro sits before that step and does not replace your certified system or your myDATA obligations.

German venues need a tamper-proof recording system with a certified technical security element under § 146a AO and the KassenSichV, must keep records in line with GoBD and must offer a receipt to the guest. Kymiro delivers requests into that system; it is neither a recording system nor a security element.

Do I have to show prices including VAT?

Yes. Prices shown to consumers must be final prices including VAT and any mandatory extras — in Germany under the Price Indication Ordinance, in Greece under the corresponding market rules. Enter your menu prices accordingly and declare fees such as minimum spend openly.

Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 requires information on the 14 main allergens for unpackaged food as well. You maintain this per product, and guests see it in the menu; supervision lies with EFET in Greece and the food control authorities in Germany.
